With your dad, if he's okay with his phone he should keep it until he's an established Cricket customer. I recommend downloading OpenSignal if you don't already have it and see if AT&T is comparable to your Verizon speed. But I can see how if someone moves from T-Mobile in my area where their slow speeds can be my fastest speeds (80Mbps). Now that I know it's just the way it is (because it will come back up to speed in a few days) and like I said, it's not hugely bothering me because 8Mbps is faster than the DSL I'm stuck with and it mostly does everything I want. It doesn't bother me SO much but the first time it happened it just so happened to be late last month and felt like throttling. With Cricket I have unlimited data and I use the hell out of it. I got a new phone from them so I'm not dealing with whitelist issues but I can speak to "slow data". I just moved to Cricket and am finishing my second month.
